Real prices for QR code menus and table ordering, from free to about $49 a month per location, taken from each tool's own pricing page. Plus the costs people forget.
Short answer: a digital menu can cost nothing. MenuMate is free, and MenuTiger and Menubly have free plans with limits. Paid QR menu tools we checked start at about $10 to $36 a month, and tools built around online ordering and delivery start around $49 a month per location. Ordering from the table and online payments are what usually push the price up.
Prices below come from each tool's own website, checked on 3 October 2026. This article is published by MenuMate. Prices change, so check the linked pages before you decide.

What pushes the price up
- Ordering from the table. Several paid tools only include it on paid plans, or cap the number of orders per month.
- Online card payments. Tools that take payments usually charge more, and the payment provider adds its own fee per transaction.
- Per-location pricing. Many plans are priced per restaurant, so a second venue doubles the bill.
- Order caps. Some plans move you to a higher tier when you go over a monthly order limit.
- Extras. Delivery, branded apps, kiosks, translations and printer add-ons are often billed separately.
Costs people forget
- Printing QR codes: table stands or stickers, usually a one-time cost.
- A screen for orders: a tablet or phone at the counter, if you take orders from the table.
- Your time: entering the menu once, then keeping prices up to date. A good editor makes this a few minutes a week.
How MenuMate keeps it free
MenuMate does not take card payments: guests pay the restaurant in cash, so there is no payment fee or commission to pay for. The free account includes the menu, one QR code per table, real-time orders, staff logins, several venues and a printable PDF menu.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a completely free digital menu?
Yes. MenuMate is free with no limits on tables or orders. MenuTiger and Menubly have free plans with the limits shown above.
Why do some QR menus charge per order?
Tools that handle online payments or delivery often price by order volume or take a fee per order. Check whether a plan has a monthly order cap before you choose it.
Does a digital menu save money compared with paper?
It removes reprinting each time a price or dish changes. How much you save depends on how often your menu changes; see the hidden costs of paper menus.
